PE days - Wednesday (Inside) and Friday (Outside)

School starts at 8.55 but you can drop your child off at 8.45 in the Foundation yard.

We are trying to develop independence, so please would you allow your child to come into school on their own (we will be able to support, if necessary).

Daily Read, Write Inc reading sessions start at 9.05, so it is very important to arrive at School on time.

School finishes: 3.15, collect outside the small green fence outside the classroom.

Reading Books

You child will be given a reading bag with the following inside:

1. Sounds

2. Reading book

3. Reading Record book (please write a comment in this book after you have read with your child - this could be a comment about; something your child enjoyed, something that they found difficult, something that they did really well at).

In the early stages of reading your child will receive a discussion book, this will be a picture book without any words - please encourage your child to discuss the pictures and to make up their own story. 

At first your child might find this difficult, you could start by asking them questions about what they can see in the pictures or ask them to explain what is happening. 

Then you could make up your own story and tell it to your child. 

The following day, encourage your child to make up their own story, using the pictures to help them.

Please bring their reading bag into school every day.
