General information

PE days are Thursday (indoors) and Friday (outside).  Please would you ensure that your child wears their PE kit to school on those days. Your child can wear joggers/leggings on these days with a school jumper. Trainers too please. Please remember no jewellery.  Thank you.

This term our topic is...

I wonder… did the Roman invasion change the life of the Celtic people? 
We will be learning about Celtic life, what they ate, how they lived, how they grew their food, Celtic jewellery and their daily routine.  The second half term we will be learning about the Roman invasion and how it affected the Celts.  We will find out about Boudicca and the Celtic uprising.

 
We will be setting up our history curiosity table, where there will be lots of artefacts for us to investigate e.g. replica rings, necklaces, brooches, pottery etc.  We will be tasting Celtic and Roman foods.

We will take part in 2 workshops, during our trips to St.Fagans and Roman Caerleon.

Home Learning:

We have a variety of different apps and websites that we will use for home learning.
These websites include: 

SeeSaw - you will find the link for AR (Accelerated Reading) where your child can take a quick quiz on the book they have read.

Reading eggs - you will find a range of spelling and reading activities on your child's personal account weekly. 

Maths seeds -you will find a range of maths activities to complete weekly.

PurpleMash - you will find a range of exciting activities. 

HWB- your child has an individual account for HWB, please help them to practice typing their email address. On here they can access a range of tools e.g. Britannia, JIT2e, Adobe Express and lots more.  We have been using these in class. We love it! We have watched videos on Britannica of the heart beating.

Please spend 20 minutes per night on completing an activity on the above websites.  It will really help your child develop and succeed, not only in school but in later life.  All your child's logins can be found on their individual passport. One was sent home at the beginning of September for home.  Please ask if you need another copy.
