Croeso i Ddosbarth Caerdydd
Teacher: Mrs Phillips
We are a class of 27 Year 5 and 6 pupils
Our Autumn Term has been all about 'Identity and Belonging' and we have explored our 'cynefin' and culture. We have enjoyed discovering how cultural diversity has shaped our community, Wales and the world. Due to our strong links with our partner school in Lesotho, we have also delved into the culture there and we have enjoyed investigating the similarities and differences. This term we have been reading the novel 'Journey to Jo'burg' by Beverley Naidoo. We have written diary entries, poems and letters based on the novel and have produced some outstanding work.
You will be able to find the Accelerated Reader link on our Google Classroom stream and in the website links below.💻 😊 Accelerated Reader is a website that provides a ‘quiz’ or set of comprehension questions based on a book your child has read. This will test their reading and understanding.
Purple Mash, Times Tables Rock Stars, Mathletics and Reading Eggs can also be accessed from home. We encourage our learners to read every day! It really is so important! 📖 📚 👍🏼
Here is an short overview of these learning sites:

We teach spelling patterns and learners have a 'home spelling' book. They will write new spellings into the book and take the book home in order to learn them.
Spelling books need to be returned to school every Monday.
PE days are Monday and Thursday. Please ensure appropriate footwear is worn on these days.
