Dear Parent/Guardian/Carer,
We have had another very busy and successful week at school. The headteachers from each of our cluster schools including St Martins visited Y2, Y4 and Y6 this week. They all praised us on our calm learning environments and the good standard of written work in these classes. We are very proud of the progress the children are making.
We had an expert visit from Water Aid this week and some extra workshops for our older leaners. This was a very informative and enjoyable experience. We plan to include more visits to school for experts as our curriculum develops.
As part of our ongoing Family and Community Engagement commitment we will be hosting a ‘Stay and Play’ session for all classes across the school again this week. This is an opportunity for all parents/guardians/carers to come and spend time with their child and partake in Easter activities alongside the class teacher. You can watch the teacher demonstrating teaching either maths or reading and listen to an Easter song.
Please arrive in school via the main reception area in time for the relevant session where you will be shown to your child’s class or to the hall. Last term’s sessions were a fantastic success with 81% of all parents attending ad supporting the sessions.
Please make every effort to ensure your school attends school every day. Being in school every day supports the progress they make. We will be nominating some children next week to become Attendance Champions. These children will be helping plan rewards for those with great attendance, and producing a video explaining the importance of attending school every day. We have a school target of 93%.
.
The school is aware of a petition circulating on social media at the moment. The wellbeing of pupils at the school is a paramount and if a parent has any concerns they should contact the school and follow the appropriate procedures that are in place to support and guide such issues.
Once again, thank you for your ongoing support to the school. We have much to celebrate and look forward to welcoming you in to school this week.
