Literacy-

Talking Together - Remember the Rhyme?

Incy Wincy spider climbed up the water spout.

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain.

So Incy Wincy spider climbed up the spout again!

Make puppets (using paper, straw or lolly stick) and retell the rhyme!

Maths -

Spider Drive

Have you ever played the game beetle drive? This is the same but with the parts of a spider.

All you need is a dice and a paper and pencil!

Talking Together

Roll the dice (there is  a dice rolling app if you don't have one!) Look at which part of a spider you can draw. The winner is the first to draw a complete spider!

Roll:

1 = body

2 = leg

3 = head

4 = eye

5 = feeler

6 = spinnerets

We al know the rhyme but can you change it?

Talking Together - Number bond Incy!

10 wincy spiders climbed up the water spout.

Down came the rain and washed 5 spiders out.

Out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain.

So 5 wincy spiders won’t climb the spout again!

Repeat with different numbers!

Sensory/fine motor skills:

1. Torn paper collage. To do this activity have your child tear different colored paper (construction paper or tissue paper) into small pieces and then help him or her glue the paper onto a piece of cardboard or another piece of paper to make a picture. This activity works on fine motor strength and precision and exposes the child to gluing and the stickiness that comes with using glue or a glue stick.

2. Scissor skills. Depending on your child's level you can try snipping or cutting different types of lines!
