Over the past few weeks, we've had a number of parents contact the school with regards to the number of times they're children are coming home with head lice.
In school we understand the frustration that this must cause parents and the discomfort it causes to the children. As it seems to be getting worse at the moment, we're looking at what we can do to try and 'tackle' the issue.
Mrs Falcus (Family Link & Pastoral Support Officer) has contacted the School Health Nurse to look at what support, advice and guidance they can offer.
We've also contacted the Local Authority Health and Safety Department to see if they can offer any guidance as to how we can support families and their children to ensure that any outbreaks are addressed quickly and appropriately.
As soon as we have more information we will be in touch with all parents. However, in the meantime, please can we ask all parents to check their child's hair and if you discover any head lice (or the eggs), treat them using products obtained from the chemist - we'll be publishing further guidance on our school website.
Thank you to all parents for their support and understanding.
